Our focus for the blog is usually on new music, but from time to time we like to throw in some art or fashion to keep you on your toes.

Introducing Poyz & Pirlz, a Parisian clothing label deeply rooted within the French hip hop scene. 

Created in 2008 by Dabaaz and Jerome of Qhuit, Poyz & Pirlz articulates around a simple idea: Releasing a limited mini collection of tee shirts and accessories every 2 months.

Around that same time, Dabazz and Dj Géro started the POYZ’N’PIRLZ Parties, which have been setting venues ablaze in Paris and around the country for 4 years now; proving to be a real melting pot of culture, where everyone gets their fill, from hood kids to hipsters, pretty girls and party animals.

P&P® have established themselves by releasing original pieces, offering something fresh and staying creative. Drawing inspiration from US tv-shows, forgotten rappers, porno stars; associating with them with catchy slogans, usually rap inspired, makes a recipe for success.

What caught our attention was the real connection the brand had with the Hip Hop scene in France and around the world, promoting artists and supplying them with clothes. Their most notable collaboration was with US rapper Perrion (interviewed here), who they flew over to Paris for some showcase shows and released a special mixtape package “From Paris With Love”, an initiative which proves their involvement and passion for the music.

Brands in every corner of the globe and spectrum of style could learn a little from Poyz & Pirlz, which prove that by sticking to their roots, as well as producing quality products, they are slowly but surely acquiring the notoriety they truly deserve.
